1988 seoul olympics silver 2 coin set-marathon & hodori mascot-case & coas
The Seoul Olympic .925 sterling silver coins (5000 won & 10000 won) were issued over a 3 year period - starting in 1986. A total of 8 silver 5000 and 8 silver 10000 won coins were minted. This set includes the 5000 won Hodori/stylized tiger mascot & the 10000 won marathon coin - both minted in 1986. Both coins have a mirror finish & have the same floral design on the back incorporating the emblem of the Republic of Korea surrounded by five roses of Sharon - the national flower of Korea. See the photos of the COAs for other size, weight & mintage specifications. Both coins are enclosed in hard plastic coin capsules contained in a 4 ½" x 2 3/4" hinged presentation case. The COAs are kept in a ribbon inset on the inside of the top cover. Cannot actually tell what the presentation case is covered with - some sort of leather-like vinyl I would guess. It feels a bit sticky & the Seoul Olympic emblem on the top is quite faded. The Hodori coin looks like it has some haze on the front - see dark contrast photo. Otherwise, the coins & COAs are in very good/excellent condition - see photos. Additional note: Silver/silvertone mirror proof coins have a shiny silver reflective background. The photos taken of mirror proof coins may appear to have a blackish or grayish-black background because of the camera angle chosen to highlight the design & any surface imperfections. The coin background is silver - not black or gray. Will combine shipping for multiple purchases
